This analytics session covers the basics of importing and cleaning up Web of Science data using Vantage Point Software from Search Technology Inc.. Vantage Point (also available as Thomson Data Analyzer) is very powerful Natural Language Processing (NLP) and analytics software that can be used to combine, mine and map data from a wide variety of sources. This session focuses on Web of Science data for synthetic biology and outlines basic tasks for interrogating Web of Science data. The two follow on sessions explore the mapping functions of Vantage Point.
