Then in 2001, Wayne State University Press released Frontier Metropolis , an extensive work in which Dunnigan chronicles Detroit from 1701 to 1838.In 2007, he was appointed Interim Director of the Clements Library, where he remains the expert on Early Detroit's fort and settlement patterns. Likewise, he has recently published a new book, A Pituresque Situation: Macinac Before Photography, 1615-1860.Interview shot on June 30, 2008, at the William L.
