The Northkill Amish Massacre is the story of the Jacob Hochstetler family, which chose to not resist an attack on their house by the French and Indians during the colonial days of the American continent. This documentary looks at the effects of Jacob's decision, and challenges the viewer to consider the question of whether Jesus was serious when He said, "resist not evil." The video is about 40 minutes long. As of this posting (April, 2011) the DVD version is not finished, but hopefully soon we want to make it available in that media as well.
The Anabaptist Vision was a message preached by Harold S. Bender at Columbia University in 1943. It is a radical Christian manifesto calling Christians back to the kingdom message of Jesus Christ. As Bender explains, “The Anabaptists were concerned most of all about a true Christian life, that is, a life patterned after the teaching and example of Christ.†This is Bender’s original message, read by Dean Taylor, author of the recent best seller, A Change of Allegiance. Harold S. Bender delivered this radical Christ-following manifesto to the church of his day at a time when the alternatives were becoming conspicuously deficient. Radical Reformation Books offers his message to the church today, over 50 years later, at a time that we believe to be no better. Originally preached before the Historical Society at Columbia University, Dec.29, 1943, Bender’s message had never been recorded. Now, this recording of The Anabaptist Vision brings Bender’s challenge alive from the pages of history to today’s church. Text used by permission from The American Society of Church History ©1944.
