Smeg's Nick Press held on, to defend a strong challenge from Michael Coxon's Thurlow Fisher Lawyers to win Heat 3 of the Australian Championship on Australia Day....The race was sailed in difficult conditions over a 4 lap windward leeward course which saw the podium places constantly shuffled throughout due to the shifty conditions. Lumix continues to impress this season with another podium to finish in 3rd place. Smeg's victory was all the more impressive as regular bowman Dave Ewings was absent and his replacement handled the pressure applied by Michael Coxon's bowman Trent Barnabus over the last 500 mtrs of the race to win by 4 secs.
