This is the first talk of Thay in the second week of the Summer Opening, given on Friday, July 15th, 2011, in the Still Water Meditation Hall of the Dharma Cloud Temple, Upper Hamlet, Plum Village. Thay continues the teaching on mindfulness of breathing, summarizing the first eight steps of the Sutra on Mindful Breathing. He teaches on dealing with difficult emotions, including how we can help those loved ones who feel they need to commit suicide because of an emotion. Thay also goes into the relationship between mind consciousness, store consciousness, by introducing the practice of selective watering. He tells the story of a couple whose love is revitalized by the practice of watering good seeds. At the end of the talk Thay shares about the four practices of Right Diligence.
