They were printed on inexpensive newsprint or rough pulp-wood paper.The most notorious titles were known as the shudder pulps or weird menace.Their shocking stories usually depicted many fantasy thrills of carnal desire and violence. A beautiful woman would ultimately find herself at the mercy of a maniac executioner to face a most horrifying doom. The fiend would always be a specialist in torture and cruelity and the girl was often barely dressed when about to breathe her last.This is the stuff of classic horror and terror tales.
