There is a growing understanding that social determinants, the circumstances in which people are born, grow up, live, work and age, have as much to do with our health as our health care system and personal choices. These circumstances are in turn shaped by a wider set of forces including economics, social policies, education, housing and racial discrimination.This program will highlight a public health approach that includes policy, systems and environmental changes that can significantly impact the social determinants of health and subsequently lay the groundwork to achieve health equity.This program will focus on the science of autism and the latest research regarding autism. It will also address barriers to communication, the top parental concerns regarding vaccines and how to address these concerns using the CASE method.
