PLUGOLA is a social indie music community & marketplace. We like to keep up-to-date with the latest live music, as well as the newest in digital indie music. We attend live shows regularly and sometimes we are able to capture a few tunes on video. We support all the hard working musicians and are not genre-specific.We hope you enjoy the videos and please feel free to come and visit www.plugo.la for more independent music and videos.
Yes, I realize Halloween has came and gone, but I still have video footaqge for some of the great bands we saw on Halloween night, at Doiuble Door-Chicago's annual Halloween bash. This time around, we have "The Sleepers" performing their set as early Aerosmith. We were impressed, as usual, by The Sleepers performance. See for yourself...
On Halloween night, the PLUGOLA street team headed over to Double Door, in Chicago, to catch their annual Halloween Bash. The band, BlackBox, performed their set as Michael Jackson. Even Michael's pet monkey, Bubbles, is on drums for this set. In this video, they do their version of Jacko's, "Smooth Criminal".
We headed over to the Halloween Bash @ Double Door-Chicago where a handful of bands dressed-up and played their set as one of the music greats from the past. This video is of a rock/soul outfit called, "The Midnight Shows" doing their live set as Eddie Money! Personally, I thought their set was best of the night.
The PLUGOLA street team was able to catch the indie pop rock act, Headlights, in Chicago right before they left for their European fall tour. They sounded pretty good and played very energetic, however; the club got really crowded and I sort of was pushed to the back. Even back there it was crowded..note the shaky camera, if you haven't already noticed.
It wasn't a roll of the dice this time. We specifically headed over to Schuba's this past friday night (10-3-08) to see "Helicopters". I've heard them before, but only online, so when the PLUGOLA street team saw they were playing live @ Schuba's, we hopped in a cab and caught the show.
We headed over to Schuba's, in Chicago, to check out a few indie bands. The opening act was a folksy, acoustic band; reminiscent of Dinosaur Jr. and/or Cake, called, "World's First Flying Machine". They're from the Champaign/Urbana (or U of I) area and they came up to Chi-Town with the Band headlights.
We had the pleasure to witness a live set by Chicago rockers, "The Sleepers" this past Saturday night (9-27-08). It was the first time the PLUGOLA street team had ever seen or heard "The Sleepers", but after their show @ Double Door (Chicago) we will definitely be making an effort to cath them live again.
Unfortunately, we missed almost all of 'The Attraction' act Saturday (9-27-08). However, PLUGOLA was able to catch their last song of the night. We really don't know much about them, but we will definoitely be looking forward to catching 'The Attraction' again.
We also had the pleasure to catch another really good band from the Elbo Room show this past Saturday (9-20-08). We don't know much about "Blue Moon Revue" besides the fact that they know how to jam, and that they appear to be having a great time performing live for everyone.
This past Saturday night (9-20-08) the PLUGOLA street team headed over to the Elbo Room, in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood. We weren't sure what to expect, since we were not familar with the bands or line-up. It turned out to be a pretty good show! One of the acts we caught was a Chicago indie rock group called, "Welcome to Ashley". This is one of their songs they performed that night.
