Sheri Graner Ray talks Equality in Gaming [GCAP Interview, 2012]

While at GCAP earlier this year, Player Attack had the good fortune to spend a little time with Sheri Graner Ray, described as the industry's leading expert when it comes to gender and computer games. Literally, she wrote the book on the matter: Gender Inclusive Game Design-Expanding The Market, just another highlight in an employment history that includes working on a whole stack of games as varied as Ultima and Nancy Drew, and co-founding Women In Games International. Particularly following the recent #1reasonwhy explosion on Twitter, which spotlighted many concerns about gender equality in the games industry, Sheri's passion for equality is no less relevant today than it was when she started in the industry a couple of decades ago.

Player Attack News

Everybody has a voice, but everybody's talking about the same thing. There's a lot of noise out there, but Player Attack aims to cut through the fluff - or, sometimes, fill you in on the fluff you might have missed. We like indie releases, breathtaking concept art, and tie-in book launches. We love cheap thrills, a good soundtrack and finding innovative uses for gaming technology. All of that is reflected on the site, updated each day with stories and details about what is going on in the games industry, always paying attention to stories other outlets ignore.
