This week on Player Attack, we see video games blamed for yet more violence in California. Perhaps they need a visit from Judge Dredd, who just arrived on iOS! Speaking of mobile gaming, a recent study shows most of us play on the couch, rather than the bus - meaning there will be plenty of people playing Temple Run, the new Infinity Blade II expansion or the freshly-announced Real Racing 3 in the comfort of their own homes. This week's QuakeCon has seen a couple of surprises: Dawnguard DLC for Skyrim was released on PC, while Rise of the Triad is getting a next-gen makeover. Minecon is going to Disneyland, Star Wars: The Old Republic is going free-to-play, and gamers are going anywhere other than World of Warcraft (even though the movie's just heard some good news!). Finally, Stephen Fry would like you to know that LittleBigPlanet Karting is %*#&ing great, in case there was any doubt.
Everybody has a voice, but everybody's talking about the same thing. There's a lot of noise out there, but Player Attack aims to cut through the fluff - or, sometimes, fill you in on the fluff you might have missed. We like indie releases, breathtaking concept art, and tie-in book launches. We love cheap thrills, a good soundtrack and finding innovative uses for gaming technology. All of that is reflected on the site, updated each day with stories and details about what is going on in the games industry, always paying attention to stories other outlets ignore.
