The folks at LensProToGo lent me a Nikon D4 for the weekend to test and I'm pleased to finally get this report out to you (it took over a week of fooling around with corrupt files to get this done). This wasn't a sophisticated scientific test of the Nikon D4, in fact, it was the first time I'd ever had a Nikon to use for longer than a few minutes, so much of the time I had the camera was just getting used to the Nikon way. Executive summary: I liked the Nikon D4 a lot! The body feels great, tho maybe a slight bit less sturdy than the Canon EOS 5D Mark III. It shoots great stills and has great features for the photographer. Where it falls down is on the video side - it is soft and has a slight bit of moire (tho much less than the Canon EOS 5D Mark II). If you're a photographer with Nikon lenses, you'll love this camera! If you're looking to shoot video, you'll likely want to pick another camera.
