co-founder, Chief Technology Officer
As CTO, Justin Day manages the technology team responsible for all software and infrastructure that powers Blip.
In the rare moments Justin isn.t working on Blip, he probably can be found working on projects at NYC Resistor a hackerspace in Brooklyn. You can check a few out here, here and here. Occasionally you can spot him on skates with the Wednesday Night Skate crew.
Justin moved to New York in the summer of 2002. Two days after arriving he found himself in a business partnership with a person he had just met. That company, Persite, provided technology solutions for retail businesses. Specializing in customized integrations and enhancements, Justin built the team to six technicians and developers. Persite is still helping solve retail technology solutions all over New York City and several other locations around the country.
Justin has always had a passion for writing code, starting at age 10. By 15 he was selling shareware over BBSes and FidoNET. He was doing web development in .92, blogging in .98 and developed linkfilter.net, one of the first community weblogs in 2000. The code that powered linkfilter later became the software package we call Otter, the software that now drives the Blip destination and dashboard.
Justin came from Fresno, a good place to be from, and he never eats meat.
