The boat has a foam carbon hull, and semi traditional topsides in English oak, cherry and douglas fir, powered by a 23kw Lithium battery pack. Elektra is undergoing testing now, but initial trials give her a top speed of 15 knots (duration 1 hour), and she's most efficient at cruising speed 6.5 knots which gives her a range of at least 70 - 100 miles - the reason for lithium, it's only 1/3rd of the weight of lead acid, and the lifespan, 3000 recharges.
