KABUL (PAN): Thousands of people continued protests for a third consecutive day on Thursday in the capital Kabul and elsewhere in the country against the alleged burning of the Quran by US troops at the Bagram Airbase, witnesses said. People staged a series of anti-US demonstrations in the Bagrami district of Kabul, several districts of Nangarhar, Laghman, Maidan Wardak, Faryab, Baghlan and Logar province provinces. The demonstrators chanted slogans against foreign troops, as well as US and Afghan governments. They sought harsh punishment for the soldiers who allegedly burnt four copies of the Quran on Monday night. Calling for for the immediate withdrawal of foreign troops, hundreds of protestors gathered in the Bagrami district of Kabul and marched on the capital city, a Pajhwok reporter at the scene said.
