KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): A newly-constructed building for a medical science institute was inaugurated in southern Kandahar province on Wednesday, an official said. Public Health Minister Suraya Dalil, Governor Toryalai Weesa, local and foreign officials attended the inaugural ceremony held in Kandahar City, the provincial capital. Public Health Director Abdul Qayyum Pukhla told Pajhwok Afghan News the building took 17 months to complete at a cost of $2.7 million. Built under the American Forces Civilian Emergency Response Programme, the structure has 20 classrooms, a two-bloc hostel for boys and girls, 60 administrative rooms, a conference hall, a dining hall, a kitchen, a mosque and a library.
