KABUL (PAN): The Afghan National Army (ANA) officers who were asked to go on early retirement staged a protest, blocking the doors of Finance Ministry, for not implementing the minister's council decree on the distribution of residential plots to them, officials said on Saturday. More than 500 ANA officers demonstrated in front of the ministry, chanting slogans, blocked a road and the ministry’s door for three hours, demanding their problems be addressed soon. Deputy head of the sacked officer's council, Abdul Majid, accused the ministry for failing to implement the decree of council of ministers regarding the distribution of residential plots. "Our rights are violated. The 400,000-member military was bargained to 70,000 (personnel) in line with the Bonn summit. He said westerners are ruling our country, now they don't respect decisions of the president and council of ministers,'' he said. PAJHWOK/Ataullah Khpelwak
