Northwest EMC is a leader in compliance testing, providing EMC/EMI testing services. Broadly EMC testing can be categorized into two areas; electromagnetic immunity / emi testing - (the ability of a product to accept disturbance) and emissions testing (EMI/RFI; the level of disturbance produced by the product). Now that that’s perfectly clear, the first thing we were inspired by is the extreme black and white contrast and the voluminous feeling of being inside the chamber. It was key to have that size of the chamber be very tangible. And given the goal of keeping the space free from ambient electrical noise, Northwest EMC uses a special mercury vapor bulb that tints the room greenish blue, so we professionally color corrected all of the interior chamber footage. Outlier Solutions kept the video and soundtrack upbeat and modern feeling. This specialization is possible since Outlier Solutions produces motion graphics, custom transitions, effects, and soundtracks in house. The color, details and immense size of these chambers required a thorough storyboard and scripting prior to shooting. Highlighting multiple, simultaneous, events that happen across these large chambers or even in different areas of the building required carefully thought out camera angles and editing techniques. The experience and expertise of Outlier Solutions allowed for all of this filming to be completed in one video shoot that lasted less then a day.
