An original creation by New York City artists Peter Cramer and Jack Waters, We Remember is a three-channel installation which integrates video, still photograph, and print media to manifest the past present, present and future of the AIDS and gay activist movement. Blending the personal with the political, and reconciling the marginal with the familiar, We Remember resurrects erased and forgotten operatives of AIDS and gay activism. Originally created for New York City's DONNELL LIBRARY CENTER across from the MUSEUM OF MODERN ART, it was on continuous view from Friday, June 1 -- Saturday June 30, 2001 It was then exhibited during the XIV International AIDS Conference in Barcelona Spain 2002 at CCCB Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona Peter Cramer is a filmmaker, videomaker, video installation artist and creator of theatrical performances. Jack Waters is a dancer, choreographer, filmmaker, video artist and writer. Over their twenty year collaboration, they have organized and produced events in the US and internationally, including tours of dance, performance, music, media visual art exhibitions and interdisciplinary events. Their video installations have been exhibited at Sculptural Space and Danspace Project in New York City, and at Miller's Studio and the Shedhalle in Zurich, Switzerland. Most recently they were the subjects of a film and video retrospective at the Anthology Film Archives.
