The PEACE Gallery exhibited sculptures inspired by “African Vision,” an exhibition at the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art in Washington, DC that focused on African art, culture, and history. “I was so inspired by the Museum’s collection that I literally ran out and bought beautiful Sculptures so we could have real examples of African Art right here at Operation P.E.A.C.E.,” says former P.E.A.C.E. Executive Director, David Zermeno. “I also framed the pages of the Museum’s curriculum on the walls of the PEACE Gallery so we could have a piece of the Smithsonian’s Art Education program on exhibit for the Fenway. I want our kids to appreciate Africa’s importance in the origins of our humanity.”
