While the immigration debate rages in Washington D.C., the city of Portland, OR takes matters into its own hands. Produced by 2008 Northwest Institute for Social Change fellows, "From Corner to Community" explores the new day labor center, a community space opened in June 2008 serving workers, contractors and local businesses. Through the voices of two former day laborers who now run the center and a Portland city official, the viewer comes to understand the personalities of the center and the people within the community who use it daily.
