Alexander in the Office "So, now I've learnt how to sit properly, why do I still get back ache and neck pain at work?" "Sitting for eight hours with our chairs badly adjusted and our monitors at the wrong height can cause us problems, however skilled we are at Inhibiting and Directing. Also, the pressures of a busy office can "grind us down."In this talk I'll show the best way to set up a desk or workstation to maximise the benefit of Alexander lessons. I'll also give you my thoughts on how to apply the principles of the Alexander Technique to meeting deadlines, making big mistakes, multitasking and all the other things that make office life so enjoyable (!)"Peter Nobes graduated from David Gorman's training course in 1993, and in 2000 gained a qualification in Ergonomics. He teaches at the South Bank Alexander Centre, which he founded in 2001, and enjoys taking Alexander into the workplace. Since 2002 he has run workshops for teachers and performers in Europe and the USA. When he isn't teaching, Peter plays blues harmonica and builds wooden boats.
