Hendrix Music Academy is a not-for profit music school whose central purpose is to give the At-risk youth of our community a ”voice“ through innovative and dynamic music intervention programs. Within their first year, and during a time of economic struggles in our country, the Hendrix Music Academy, in partnership with their generous supporters, has been able to provide music intervention programs to the youth of south King county, without any costs to their families. Dozens of teens, from S. King county neighborhoods that are plagued with gang-violence, received music intervention services throughout the entire school year, such as: guitar lessons, drum lessons, keyboard lessons, songwriting, music business, music production, pro-audio lessons, music performance, field trips, and more. On todays show, Erin sits down with Tina Hendrix, founder of the Hendrix Music Academy, and discusses how this organization benefits the youth of our community. Also joining Erin on todays show are the members of the band Fallen Traitors, who discuss how the organization has benefitted them personally.
