Our Noches de Richmond Series was invited to film Mexican holidays during the Christmas season of 2008 at La Milpa in Richmond, Virginia. On one such occasion the nationally known Salinas family performed Aztec ceremonies which took my breath away as, to me, it was very intense as a filmer. The colors of their ceremonial garb, the intense sound of the drums and the ambience of the surroundings added much to the season as seen from an Anglo's eyes for the first time.I want to thank my friend Martin González for keeping me posted on his special cultural events held at the La Milpa Specialty Store and Restaurant. Anyone looking to taste real authentic Mexican food needs to stop by La Milpa at 6925 Hull Street Rd. just west of Chippenham Parkway.
