Well here in Perisher... a nice 7cm top up freshened up the resort yesterday... and it make it even better- conditions today have been nothing but clear and sunny, so riders could really enjoy it. Lets take a look at some vision shot across the resort today... Thanks to the snowfall the cover was refreshed, soft and ready for tracks to be made. Across the resort 53 groomed runs were in top shape and held up well with a good base below. ... it also wasn't hard to find a few powder seams off piste too. The standouts today.. were snow trails at Perisher, Karls at Guthega, Excellerator at Blue Cow and over at Smiggs J bar land was the place for beginners. It wasn't just about cruising under the sun.. for those wanting to step it up in the park scene... 3 progressive parks were pumping too as well as the rider x course and Australia's only Halfpipe. Lets take a look at the other resorts around the country... Thredbo was greeted with 5cm of new snow and all major trails were groomed. Today we're here at Mt Buller where we're getting ready for a bumper weekend with plenty of activities on offer. We currently have 11 lifts spinning and an average natural base of 14cms of snow, and up to 80cms in snowmaking areas. The Subaru Victorian Interschools are taking place across the mountain this week. You can catch the closing ceremony at 6.45pm in the Village tonight. And this Saturday the James Boag's ABOM Mogul Challenge will take place on the Summit. Now let's take a look at what's happening at the Victorian resorts. Today we're expecting clear skies and plenty of sunshine across Victoria. • Falls Creek has a good to very good cover of firm packed snow, softening throughout the day, and 14 lifts turning. • Mt Hotham is sitting on an average natural base of 75cms of snow, with over 90cms in snowmaking areas. • Mt Baw Baw has fair to poor tobogganing on Lower Hut Run. • There is no snow at Lake Mountain with free gate entry until further notice. Today we're expecting a little morning snow and windy conditions. • Falls Creek is sitting on a natural base of 97cms of snow and has 14 lifts turning. • There is a good to very good cover over of fresh wet snow at Mt Hotham, with 29cms of snowfall in the past 24hours. • Mt Baw Baw has tobogganing available at Frosti Frog Hollow and good sightseeing and snowplay. • Lake Mountain has limited snowplay and tobogganing on a manmade snow cover in the Village. Hello welcome to the daily snow report brought to you by Snow Australia. I bet you are curious to see what the weather brings today, we are hanging out here in Hotham, that is starting to look like a winter wonderland again, much to the joy of all us ski freaks. Yesterday we had some later snow falls after a spectacular battle of black & white clouds. It was amazing & brought the goodness as it started dumping hard in the arvo. Smooth groomers are almost unbeatable & what we have in offer today. We have had 10 centimetres of fresh over the last 48 hours & rocking a natural average snow depth of 80 centimetres & the snow guns have been going off topping up the Alps even more! Its about time we got spoiled! We are turning 7 lifts here in Hotham & beginners rock the Summit while intermediates cruise the Drift & all the Guns drop off the Cornice. Falls Creek have 55 kilometres of cross countrying & turning 14, while Buller offers air time in the Summit Jump Park spinning 15. 3 lifts in BawBaw & lifts on standby in Ban Lomand. New South Wales have fresh tracks in a fully open Charlotte's Pass & Thredbo where Antons park is where to show off. Guthega is the place to be for freshies in Perisher turning all lifts & 5 rocking Selwyn. The nights have been cold, in comparison to the spring time heat last week, & dropped to -4.8 degrees last night & should reach about -1 during the day, perfect for firing up the snow guns. Today was meant to be cloudy although seems pretty sunny & clear at the moment, although snow is back on the forecast tomorrow bringing wind as well. Hi, I'm Emily Elkington. Welcome to 150 years of skiing and the daily snow report brought to you by Snow Australia. Today we are here at Thredbo where riders enjoyed the powder and made fresh tracks after 15cm of snow overnight. Freshies was the word of the day early on through all resorts thanks to Mother Nature's efforts overnight. The snow cover was fantastic in all resorts with a soft dry snow cover and the off-piste was an absolute powder treat. In Thredbo: there was something for every rider on the mountain with powder and freshies aplenty. The Central Spur area was the pick and all lifts were open. Perisher: had all lifts open throughout the four resort areas. Advanced riders loved making fresh tracks on GS Bowl and the pick was Snowy Trails. At Selwyn Snowfields: they had a great cover of fresh snow with 5 lifts open. The favourites were Pig Gully and Tunnel Run. Charlotte Pass: had a great cover of fresh snow with 5 lifts open. Kosi Coaster and Exhibition were the tip. Across the boarder to Victoria: Where Mt Buller: early risers made fresh tracks on Summit after fresh snow overnight. 15 lifts were open. Falls Creek: had 14 lifts open with Junction and Days End making the hit list and looking a treat for all riders. In Mt Hotham: 7 lifts were churning with a fresh groomed cover throughout the resort. Heavenly Valley and Big D were the tip. Lake Mountain: was the place to be for tobogganing and snow play with a good cover of manmade and fresh snow. A few trails were open. Mt Baw Baw: had great tobogganing on the Frosti Frog Hollow Toboggan Park with a patchy cover on ski runs. 3 lifts were open. With more snow in the forecast all the Australian resorts are looking good so come on up and get on the slopes. Now let's take a look at what's happening around the resorts: In Victoria; Hotham has 12 lifts running, Falls Creek has 14, 19 at Buller and 5 at Baw Baw. Lake Mountain reports most trails are open. Welcome to your daily Snow Australia resort update from Mt Buller Victoria. After a weekend of glorious sunshine and bluebird days the clouds have arrived around the mountain and snow showers are forecast to roll in later this week. It's been a huge few days on the mountain here with top snowboarders from across the country competing in the Dew Hut Jam this weekend -- take a look at what they got up to while I run you around the resorts... Cloudy skies today are not stopping fun on the slopes with all 22 of lifts in operation here at Buller and an average snow cover of around 66cms right around the resort ensuring all runs, all terrain parks and all snowplay areas are open. There is a mixed bag of weather coming in across the resorts this week and snow lovers will be hoping any showers are of the snowy variety to ensure our very good snow conditions stay that way! Falls Creek has a good softening cover of groomed snow and all lifts in operation while over at Hotham there is also a full set of lifts in business and good to excellent skiing all over the resort including off the Heavenly Valley Chair. Mt Baw Baw has a good cover of around 33cms of snow and four parks open while Lake Mountain has tobogganing in the Village on around 10cms of soft snow. Up in NSW: All lifts will turn at Perisher today and Australia's only superpipe is now open next to the Sundeck. Thredbo has excellent top to bottom cover and all runs open and groomed. At Selwyn Snowfields has 10 lifts operating with the terrain park and snowtubing both open and an average cover of 35cms of snow on the ground. In Charlotte Pass all lifts are turning and Waterfall is the pick for beginner skiers today if you are up at Australia's highest resort. Next to no wind, the sun is out and all 15 lifts are open. Anywhere is great to ski today with extensive grooming across the mountain. Whether you are into big jumps and gondola features or not it is worth checking out the Ruined Castle Terrain Park in such fantastic weather. Pete the Snow Dragon has a free show and games for the kids today from 4:30pm in the Village Bowl and it is Night Skiing 6 to 9, only 10 bucks for kids and $20 for adults. There is so much on at Falls Creek this weekend, Sled Dog Classic, Shows and The Age Corporate Races. Big thanks to Andrew Ramsey for the visit last night and his amazing presentation of 150 years of skiing. Now let's take a look at what's happening around the other resorts: In Victoria surface conditions are firm this morning. A dusting overnight, we should see all 13 lifts spinning at Hotham today and all 22 lifts at Buller with sunny skies about. There is great beginner stuff on offer at Baw Baw with 5 lifts for skiing and boarding. A fair to good firm groomed snow cover for XC skiing on all trails in Lake Mountain. To NSW now; snow flurries Tuesday afternoon, fine and clear today with Perisher seeing 47 lifts running and an excellent cover across the 4 resort areas. Cold overnight temps and13 lifts at Thredbo. Charlottes Pass is offering excellent skiing on Avalanche and the Big Dipper. Selwyn Snowfields had 6cm of snow late yesterday, 8 lifts expected today. The first for the season, the Thursday Night Show Spectacular complete with fireworks and on snow skiing demos went off with a bang on the Summit last night. Snow conditions are superb with all terrain and lifts open here at Falls Creek including now Lakeside and The Snow Tube. Park rats - Drovers and Ruined Castle Parks have jumps and features ready to jib and it looks like we are in for a sunny start to the weekend with 5 to 10cms forecast to fall Monday. Need to get extreme? Get out in the back country with Steve Lee and his Tours. Now lets take a look at what's happening around the other resorts: All 13 Lifts should spin at Hotham this weekend with Heavenly and Blue Ribbon the go. At Mt Buller 19 lifts expected and skiing is on a very good dry cover in open areas. Baw Baw have 5 lifts for skiing and boarding with Summit and Hut run offering an excellent cover of snow. Snowplay and all cross country trails are open in Lake Mountain. Sunny skies and plenty of groomed runs in Perisher with all lifts running. Thredbo and Charlottes Pass should see all terrain and lifts also on an excellent cover around 1.5 metres. With snow falling throughout the week, Mt Baw Baw is back in full swing for the second week of the School Holidays. Visitors have been enjoying great skiing and boarding conditions, with a fresh cover of snow. There is plenty to keep the kids busy with a free Burton Learn to Ride clinic today and a freestyle camp tomorrow. More features are being installed each day in the Terrain Parks and we are looking forward to seeing the country's best boarders in action at the Forum Battle @ Baw Baw on the 23rd.With more snow on the way we are set to have a great week ahead. Let's take a look at the resorts around the country. There are excellent conditions at Mt Hotham, head to Heavenly Valley, Orchard and the Big D for the best runs. Falls Creek has hit the 1m mark and is set up nicely for the season. Enjoy night skiing tonight on Wombats Ramble. It's been nice and cold at Buller resulting in beautiful dry snow. Standard, Summit and Shakey Knees are the pick of the day. All trails at Lake Mountain are rated 'excellent', keen cross country skiers should head up and enjoy the fresh snow. Over to the NSW resorts.. With top to bottom cover and extensive grooming conditions are pretty much perfect at Thredbo. Perisher is in great shape and has the Play Station Slope Style and Coca-Cola Leichardt parks back in full swing. Charlotte pass has a massive amount of snow, Easy Starter is looking great for beginner and the Big Dipper is the best ride for the advanced. Good Morning & Welcome to the daily snow report brought to you by Snow Australia. I hope you enjoy this gorgeous Hotham view as much as I do. We have been royally spoiled as I am sure you are aware. It hasn't stopped snowing yet & the forecast keep saying snow till after the weekend. Most of our resorts have had up to 30 centimeters of snow over the last 24 hours. Today, steady dumping down to 900 meters & our natural average snow depth is now 98 centimeters, Meter party this afternoon perhaps? More reason to celebrate, as Heavenly Valley opened up yesterday treating all powder hounds to steep freshies. Actually there is great skiing in all the resorts, in fact lets have a look at what's going on in the Alps, like Falls Creek turning 11 lifts & the place to be is obviously newly opened Scotts & Ruined Castle. 9 lifts keeping Buller happy & the Bourke Street terrain park is open if jibbing is preferred to powder. Baw Baw is assessing their lifts & terrain daily & is hopefully up & running very soon. Its is looking deep in New South Wales, where Charlotte's Pass is spinning 4 lifts & intermediates could give their legs a work out on Pulpits T-bar. Selwyn Snowfields showing off with 7 on the spin. Supertrail is a treat in Thredbo where they are turning 10 out of 14 lifts & if you are keen on socialising head over to the Gunbarrel Express at 11 am for a tour around the hill. Perisher, heaps of freshies of course. They have 44 lifts turning & I hear Guthega is where to get your tree skiing on. It is cold in the Alps with overnight temperatures dropping to -3.9 degrees & we should feel a top of -- 4 during the day. My advice is 2-3 runs followed by a cappuccino, 2-3 more runs followed by hot chocolate & after lunch have a few last leg burners followed by glue-wein... Continual snow falls over the last few days have seen over 21cm so far here at Falls Creek with plenty more on the way. 7 lifts are currently up and running but expect more to open as the snow pours in. Looking around the resorts: Charlotte Pass has had 30cm of snowfall over the last 24 hours to add to a solid base, with 4 lifts open. Perisher also received 30cm with 39 lifts running, including the terrain park. Mt Selwyn copped a 12cm over the past day and has 7 lifts running to show for it. Thredbo received a solid 25cm and is currently operating 13 lifts plus terrain park. Hotham received 13cm over the last 24 hours, has 6 lifts running and the terrain park is open for business. Lake Mountain received a 2cm dusting with a few trails open for business. Mt Baw Baw had a 3cm dusting but is not currently operating any lifts. Mt Buller also copped a solid 8cm in the last 24 hours to add to its solid base, they're currently running 6 lifts and the terrain park is open. Hi, I’m Eliza here at Mt Baw Baw with the daily snow report bought to you by Snow Australia where we are celebrating 150 of excellent skiing in Australia. Mt Baw Baw has had lots of beautiful sunny days this week with plenty of visitors taking a walk to the summit to enjoy the snow and the spectacular views. Conditions on the Australian slopes are good today with lots of snowmaking around the resorts bumping up the snow depth. The Victorian resorts are looking great .. Falls Creek has good skiing on Wombats, Towers and Drovers There are good conditions at Mt Hotham with the best skiing and boarding on the Village loop and Big D. At Mt Buller there is good cover on Bourke St and plenty features are out in the terrain park. Lake Mountain has good sightseeing and snowplay and the Village toboggan run is open. Charlotte Pass has 4 out of 5 lifts turning today. Intermediates head to Pulpit and beginners go and enjoy runs from the Kosciusko chair mid station. There were 117 snow guns in action at Perisher overnight, groomed runs are in tip-top shape. Selwyn has five lifts running with good top to bottom cover in snowmaking areas. Thredbo is in good shape today. Lots of features are installed in the Cruiser and High Noon Terrain Parks for you to enjoy. There is plenty happening on and off the snow here at Mt Baw Baw these school holidays including our new all year tube park, husky dogs and fantastic snow sport programs. Well here in Perisher... 50 cm has fallen up top in the past 24 hours, 40cm mid mountain.. The cover is fresh, soft and thick! Thanks to this great snowfall- 11 lifts opened across both Perisher and Blue Cow today- the Happy Valley t-bar making its 20-11 season debut. 12 groomed runs were looking the goods, but some lucky riders headed off piste where they found some very nice deep wind blown stashes. Lets take a look at the resorts around Australia At Charlotte Pass... 50cm has also fallen in the past 24 hours. which is great news with it only being 2 days until they open In Selwyn... 17cm fell in the past 24 hours with the cover also getting a nice top up from the snow guns. In Thredbo.... 40cm has fallen up top over the past 24 hours, 7 lifts opened and playground run also made its season debut. Falls Creek... Here at Perisher the flakes have started falling and the forecasters are telling us to get ready for some powder with snow down to 800 metres and as much as 15 to 50 centimetres of the fresh stuff.. ... So it's looking like a good week to be on the slopes.. The beginners have been loving the soft wet cover... thanks to some overnight drizzle .... Nice and forgiving if you're going to take a tumble..... This little guy showed us all just how it's done.. ripping down front valley this morning. Park goers also have plenty to get excited about... Here at perisher we've done a complete rebuild on Front Valley.. There are now two jib lines.. one for the advanced and one for the beginners.. as we get more snow we'll make the park bigger and better..... Around the country now,,, Charlottes pass is just a few days away from Friday's opening.. Welcome to 150 years of skiing and the Daily Snow Report brought to you by Snow Australia. We are here at Falls Creek and what a fantastic start to the season!! Glenn McGrath kicked it off up here with some snowball cricket and in and out snow flurries have kept everyone smiling! Head up to falls today for reduced lift tickets and some of best snow conditions seen for the opening long weekend in a decade - $49 Adults, and only 24 bucks for kids. 4 lifts are up and running with top to bottom skiing on Wombats Ramble run and Main Street for intermediates. Pete's Train and Mouse Trap are great lifts for beginners and for the kids in ski school. Over 43cm base in those snowmaking areas. Get aerial on the Snow Bungy - open today from 12 to 2pm or take a FREE scenic chair ride and you might catch up with McGrath. Now lets take a look at whats happening around the resorts.. In Victoria its looking good.. All resorts are offering lifts for skiing, boarding, xc skiing or tobogganing. Possible snow flurries are forecast for today with Hotham, Buller and Baw Baw also expecting 4 lifts to turn. There is a good groomed snow cover on open runs. To NSW now.. A chance of snow today with Perisher and Thredbo seeing 6 lifts. Selwyn expects New Chum and Township chairlifts to spin for skiing and boarding. ; We look forward to Charlottes pass opening on the 24th June. This is a small relief effort for the survivors of Japan's 2011 magnitude 9.0 quake that triggered massive tsunamis destroying much of the coast of northern Honshu. Two Australian's living in Niseko Hokkaido loaded a van and drove to the most affected areas to deliver food, water and basic supplies. We took a slight detour today to go and visit Geibi Gorge and the Buddhist shrines and temples of Hiraizumi. Both of these areas offer some of the most beautiful scenery in Japan. There are two activities taking up everyone's time in Niseko at present...riding and digging! It hasn't stopped snowing since Friday afternoon, bringing us up to 2 metres of snow around the lower slopes. Up until Friday afternoon we hadn't had a lot of snowfall this week in Niseko, so we had to make our fun somewhere on-piste!
