The carbon dioxide produced by burning is absorbed in the sea, changing its chemistry. This acidic seawater is inhospitable for shelled creatures at the bottom of the food chain.A Sea Change is the first documentary about ocean acidification, the flip side of climate change. The film combines hard scientific information—we interview internationally known scientists—with the personal story of a family of fishermen. With Sven Huseby, retired educator and concerned grandparent, we travel from Norway to Northwestern America, learning about the scientific, economic, and cultural implications of ocean acidification.
