Thursday night was/is/will be a historic occasion in New Jersey politics. The events that have lead to the campaign kickoff you're about to see are virtually unprecedented. Essentially, three incumbent popular State Legislators have been unfairly/unjustly forced into a position where they have to run off the regular Bergen County Democrat Oganization "party line" to maintain their integrity as progressive Democrats. The video speaks for it self. You can sign up to help out at RealBergenDemocrats.com and I also suggest checking out BlueJersey.com as a way of keeping abreast of, and catching up with, developments in this race. If you search the archives there, you will find some great stuff and even be able to add your own insights/comments/questions to the mix.A notable prescence at the rally was Jim Dean of Democracy For America. (A bit of synchronicity...this event occurred just a few blocks from Dean Street! ;-) The positive fallout from Howard Dean's candidacy continues to shower us with political blessings.Frankly, it's a no brainer. Loretta Weinberg, Valerie Vanieri-Huttle and Gordon Johnson deserve to be re-elected in a landslide. The more you know about them and their candidacy (and who/what their opposition is all about) the more you'll want to support them in any/every way you can. I left the musical bits in at the beginning and the end as they were/are a fitting frame for the Spirit of the the event. There's nothing canned or slick about the following video, it's all one long "take". (Shot at 15fps with a hand held Casio pocketcam.)A straight 43 minute "shot" of 100 proof unadulterated democracy... Enjoy!!! :-)
