About this series:

Like the Twilight Zone, the web series Next To Heaven takes its viewers on a bizarre journey into the unknown each week. Installments can be funny, tragic or surreal (sometimes all three!). The series is a combination of unusual remixes of vintage films from the Internet Archive and live action short films made especially for the series.

“Rest” was shot in a New Jersey Mobil station’s men’s room. I was on a road trip with my family and I needed to go. Soon after I said to my wife, “I need a few minutes to shoot the men’s room.” She said “Ok, take your time.” I obviously married the right person. Rest is one of the films that earned me the privilege of calling NTH award-winning. It won a Rosebud award for 2009. The Rosebud Festival seeks to honor the innovative, experimental, unusual, and deeply personal in creative film and video making in the DMV. “The Tapes of My Father” from Season 1 of NTH won a Rosebud in 2007.
