http://www.melissawest.com In episode 124 of Namaste Yoga we will return to another Ganesh story. In this story Ganesh removes the reckless abandon of the destruction being caused by a son completely distraught over the loss of his Father. In these stories, the Hindu deities represent aspects of ourselves and their behaviour represent how we can sometimes be reckless with ourselves internally at the times when we need to be the most gentle. This story teaches us to be gentle and compassionate with ourselves in our own healing. In the story, Ganesh removes all negativity. In our own lives we can use our own resources including yoga to move emotions through our body. In this class we will use yoga postures such as apanasana, lion's breath and mudras to help move toxins, challenging emotions, waste and anything we need to let go of, through our bodies. Yoga postures such as dancer, Goddess, and tiger will offer a fun dramatic re-enactment of the humorous parts of the story and allow us to laugh even in the most difficult times of our lives.
