Did you know that sparklers can burn under water? This is because they contain an oxidizer (usualy Potassium nitrate or Potassium perchlorate) as a oxygen source instead of getting oxygen from the air. As a result, they are able to burn even when they are placed in an environment where oxygen is absent. This experiment is potentially dangerous and even though we joke in the video I would not recommend any one repeat it at home.

A quick video on how to how to annoy people working in your lab with dry ice. The noise comes from when the dry ice is heated up by the metal it sublimates and the gas being created pushes the metal down briefly. The resulting vibration results in the screaming noise.
