Shanita Stubbs is a 19-year-old homeless resident of Newark, NJ. Her adoptive mother kicked her out of her home when she found out that Shanita is a lesbian. With nowhere to turn, Shanita ended up on the streets. Now, through Covenant House in Newark, she has the opportunity to move into Nancy's Place, a home for homeless youths with mental illness diagnoses. Video by John Munson Less
