www.movingstories.tv - I'm a female, an out-of-date female. That's because I hold this gender-biased legacy attitude about our national sport. That's right, hockey. I haven't come close to a rink, or pair of skates or even a large screen tv blaring Cherry's chatter since my cute little brother got all gangly in grade 6 and quit the house team (btw, he just turned 40). This trio of writers has brought me back. RANDALL MAGGS is the author of NIGHT WORK: THE SAWCHUK POEMS freshly launched at Hockey Hall of Fame; DAVE BIDINI has just released AROUND THE WORLD IN 57 1/2 GIGS which continues his spiritual riff of finding the familiar in the most unlikely places; its his latest tome in his portfolio of books on music and hockey. PAUL QUARRINGTON has too many awards to mention, and is, this very week, being honoured by the inclusion of KING LEARY in Canada Reads, defended by none other than his buddy in hockey-writing-dedication, Dave Bidini. The BookShort film by Justin Simms - released simultaneously with Randall's work - is now available with the indomitable help of Kitty Lewis at Brick Books -- more at http://www.bookshorts.com/watch_nightwork© BookShorts Literacy Program in association with Canadian Booksellers Association.
