Anna Kosturova - Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2013

Anna’s fashionable inclinations were overwritten by the realities of the education system, and, rather than pursuing the arts, Anna earned a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in textile technology. Over the next few years, Anna acknowledged her flair for art and fashion and made the decision pursue her passion professionally. She refers to this radical change in her life as “a personal liberation, a process of decoding my DNA to claim my own happiness.” Today, our line of hand-crocheted swimwear and cover-ups is designed by Anna Kosturova in her Vancouver studio, and produced overseas by a family of crochet artisans whom Anna has known personally for many years. Each piece in our affordable couture collection is made with the environment in mind. Because it takes time – 2 years on average – to develop new stitches and designs, new styles are debuted once a year. The handcrafted pieces in the Anna Kosturova Collection are not fast, disposable fashion, but are instead items to be collected over the years as modern heirlooms.
