St. Paul's Dorothy Day Center, the Twin Cities biggest provider of services to the homeless, is staying open for the Republican National Convention, which takes place around 200 yards away. Situated inside a pedestrians-only zone on the RNC security map, Day Center clients accustomed to biking there will be out of luck. So will anyone who lacks a Dorothy Day-issued “community card” with their photograph. Any backpacks or large bags will be inspected.
