All metal parts on the AK105 are steel (I tested with a magnet) except the outer barrel. The finish of the AEG is nice - a flat black coating that isn't as deep or rich as the more expensive makes like VFC, LCT or Inokatsu, but very workmanlike anyway (and much better than the finish of the CYMA AKs). The news that ACM was to produce a replica of the Kobra sight was greeted with much excitement by those airsofters who like to re-create Russian themed kit loadouts. While there is a huge amount and variety of Western red dot sighting systems available to the airsofter, until ACM announcement their replica there was no Russian red dot available at all - unless you were able to afford a real Kobra sight (which would set you back anywhere between £150 to £200).
