Melissa Gira is a writer, new media artist, and sex worker and human rights activist. Her published work has appeared in $pread magazine, and has been performed live, sometimes nude, and most always by webcam and laptop in her most recent home-cities, San Francisco and New York. Melissa teaches technology skills workshops for sex workers, and lectures on sex workers’ labor, civil, and human rights at a number of colleges and universities, and with community-based queer and interfaith organizations. She's been invited to speak on human sexual rights at venues as far-ranging the Third Wave Feminist Foundation and the Parliament for the World's Religions.
