This is a movie dominated by Cher, who I love. She can do no wrong in my eyes. She's a great comedienne, actress, singer, dancer....and she performs superbly here. It has a funny, always interesting plot, which ultimately becomes one of a soap opera. Is Cher going to lose the burlesque house? Is a developer seeking to take advantage of her to build a high-rise building? It starts to become ridiculous, but nevertheless, I think it's still worth seeing, and I give it a plus. Former New York City Mayor Ed Koch does his weekly take on new movies--from blockbusters to art films. His rating system is as plainspoken as his language. A "plus" for movies he likes, a "minus" for ones he doesn't. Watch and hear as the New Yorkiest of all New Yorkers tells it like it is. The Mayor at the Movies is a production of New York Insider TV.
