Item Summary: Genuine Italian leather limited edition unisex sneaker made in Hungary. Only 100 pair will be made and each one is numbered from 00-99. About Tisza: The story began when Thomas Bata wanted to build a shoe factory somewhere in Hungary in the 1930s. On one of his journeys he accidentally found Martfu, where the water-, rail- and public road met. The territory became his property in 1939 - he bought the five hundred and ninety three cadastral hold (842 cadastral acres) for 325000 pengo. The construction has started; the Cikta Rt. - the factory started under this name - started to produce homeshoes in 1942. There has been lot of changes during the years of war, leaders changed each other, but the factory always had work. After the war the company had losses, they made wooden sole shoes instead of rubber sole. In August 1949 Cikta Rt. adopted the name Tisza Cipogyár Nemzeti Vállalat. In the 1950-60s the company mostly satisfied domestic demands, exported only to socialist countries. At these times they produced large quantity of boots for the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Defense and the Civil Guard. In December 1970 Tisza Cipogyár put in the application for authorization of their new logo, which they obtained in in the first months of 1971. They started to produce sport shoes, which became the favorite shoes of the young generation. Several facts show that the sport shoes of Tisza Cipogyár fulfilled the expectations. From May 1971 the french ADIDAS manufactured its football shoes called La Paz at their site. In the early 70s several new models came to light, some of them deservedly called the ancestors of today's old school style shoes. Many people remember the company's oldest products; the rubber sole - vulcanized - gym shoes which reached the stores in many colors. The selection of gym shoes widened, besides the (half) shoes long legged/boot style shoes were produced, and started to make linen and leather shoes for different sport activities. In these times Tisza Cipogyár was Hungary's biggest shoe manufacturer - they not only made shoes, but rubber soles for other companies of the country. They produced 10 200 000 pair of shoes annually, 3 000 000 of them were gym shoes. Besides the quantity they took care of the quality, in July 1974 the PVC sole shoes obtained the high quality product distinctive title. At the 1976 Budapest International Fair the Tisza Cipogyár leisure shoe family won the Fair's Prize. The year 1976 brought several international recognition for the Tisza Cipogyár, for the french ADIDAS signed a multi-year contract to produce sport shoes, the company's products appeared on the English market and an agreement was made on the first American export, where besides the casual shoe order the Americans laid claim to 50 thousand pair of sport shoes. In 1999 the import is increasing, and several foreign mark get into the domestic market, the Tisza Cipogyár manufactured training shoes till middle of 1990, then they deal with manufacturing of street shoes for women-, man and children. 2003 summer, it's again come up the Tisza training shoes, which is familiar for several people. Beside the old models, we want to call up the legend of Tisza. 2008-2009 Mayan Tamang limited edition sneaker is released!
