Every year I team up with the Dana Farber SunSafe program, and our visit to the Stanley School was our first joint venture of 2008. The SunSafe program aims to educate children about the dangers of exposure to the sun's rays at an early age, in elementary school, to be sure good and safe sun habits start early. My partner from Dana-Farber, Martha Young, taught the kids all about the ABCs of sun protection - Avoid, Block, Cover up, and Say Something! After unsuccessfully trying to come up with a reason NOT to use sun block that I would agree with, the students were ready to make a deal - promise never to argue about putting sunscreen on again, and wear sunglasses to protect your eyes, and I'll put you on TV and on the web.
