Santa Cruz, CA was once a quiet little surfing town in Northern California, nestled between the Pacific Coast and the Santa Cruz Mountains. On the other side of those mountains, less than an hour's drive is thriving Silicon Valley. This short film chronicles the attitudes of the Santa Cruz surfing locals, the ones with "saltwater in their veins", with regards to the "valley" people who now crowd their treasured surf spots.
Odyssey: DATW is a travel adventure series. I helped develop and produce the pilot episode. My duties included overseeing the look and feel of the show graphics (including the title sequence), developing story lines, supervising the post-post production (including organizing over 250 hours of footage and prepping them for not just the pilot but the entire 12 part series), and writing the narration track. The series ran on television stations around the world including Nat Geo Adventure, OLN,
Video Sketchbook is an experimental new media project that originated in daily installations on the web. Like a painter's sketchbook, the intent was to experiment with different subjects, techniques and ideas without too much consideration of the final outcome.
