At the conclusion of World War Two, Judith got to know and married Gerson Leiber, a U.S. GI living in Budapest. In 1947 the young couple immigrated to the United States and after years of working for various New York handbag makers, Mrs. Leiber founded the Judith Leiber Company in 1963. Since then, the establishment has made world-renowned handbags, evening bags and accessories. The bags are part of the permanent collections of museums world wide. Although Mrs. Leiber retired in 1998, her big repercussion on handbag designing goes forward. Plenty of her genuine designs are still sold today. "The Artful Handbag", a coffee table book that chronicles the vivid memoir of the Company is available to purchased nowadays.Ms Leibers purses have been carried by well known celebrities, including Jessica Simpson, Lindsay Lohan, Hilary Swank, Natalie Portman, Nicole Ritchie, Teri Hatcher, Debra Messing, Oprah Winfrey, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Cate Blanchett just to name a few. Judith Leiber was also carried by various first ladies to their husband's presidential inaugerations, including Barbara Bush, Laura Bush, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Betty Ford, and Nancy Reagan.
