Traverse City's newest child care center is officially open, and it's all thanks to the local YMCA. The Grand Traverse Bay YMCA received their state license to operate a new child care center in early February, and quickly opened the new facility. Tom Van Deinse, CEO of the YMCA, stated that the new center is part of the group's service to the community. According the the YMCA, the national group is the country's largest provider of day and child care services, and has been providing those services nationwide for years. The opening of the local YMCA's new child care center means that these services are now available on a local level.
