The Grand Traverse Bay YMCA offers numerous programs in our community, and the opening of a new facility is making their list of programs a little bit bigger. The YMCA is opening a new day care center that will serve up to 80 children, ranging from infants to school age. Those at the YMCA said that the new center is a part of the group's service to the community; they added that they felt that the Traverse City area was under served when it came to day care. The new day care facility is located in the same building as the YMCA's gymnastics program. The YMCA recently acquired an additional ten thousand square feet of space in the building; they plan to use a portion of the space for the day care center and the remainder to expand their gymnastics program.
