A local resort is gearing up for an annual festival, scheduled to be held later this month. The Cherry Capitol Winter Wonderfest will be held from February 13 until February 16, with events taking place in Downtown Traverse City, the Mt. Holiday Ski & Recreation Area, and the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa. Dozens of activities will be featured at the event, these range from winter activities like skiing and snowshoeing to traditional festivities including music, food, and of course a chili cook-off. A portion of proceeds from the event will be used to benefit the Special Olympics of Michigan; much more information on the Winter Wonderfest and all its activities is available online at WinterWonderfest.org.
