A local sports team is heading downstate to help raise money for a few different charities. The Cadillac High School boy's basketball team will be playing in the Meijer Holiday Hoops Invitational on December 27. The team will face Lansing Eastern High School at the Jack Breslin Student Events Center on the campus of Michigan State University. Tickets to the event cost $7 for students and $12 for adults; student tickets can be purchased at the Cadillac Area Public Schools Athletic Office and adult tickets can be purchased at the Breslin Center on the day of the event. Proceeds from the basketball game will help a group of charities to build and operate a new pediatric emergency room at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing.
