Grandmaster Parimarjan Negi and Andrei Istratescu shared the First Prize of the Kaupthing Open 2008 which concluded in Luxemburg on Saturday .Tata boy Parimarjan Negi played an excellent game against Yuri Drozodovskij . Playing with white Parimarjan was quick to control the board and slowly captured all the important squares to give a befitting defeat to his opponent to be Joint winner with Andrei Istratescu who also finished on 7 points.On the other table Abhijeet Gupta , despite having a good position somehow blundered in the end game and lost .
