William Rodriguez, 911 Hero and Survivor

This is a short clip from extras on the DVD "911: Dust and Deceit at the WTC" . William Rodriguez was speaking at a rally at the United Nations on September 11, 2005. He was a janitor in WTC 1 for 20 years, and on 911 saved many lives because he had the master key to the stairwells, and because he went back into the building. As the building collapsed, he saved himself by diving under a firetruck. He was the last survivor of WTC 1 to be pulled from the rubble alive. William has been active in helping families of 911, survivors, and despite his own health problems from breathing the toxic dust of 911, continues to speak to groups and tell his story. He traveled to Venezuela and met with Hugo Chavez, and Kuala Lumpur where he and Jimmy Walter met with Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, the former Prime Minister of Malaysia.
