In recent years, hundreds of thousands of Cambodian families have either been forcibly displaced or are currently under the threat of forced eviction today. Big business and the Cambodian government (often the same people) explain forced evictions as a necessary part of development while international donors continue to pour money into the government's pockets in the name of development. Cambodia's Destructive Development is the beginning of a one-year project to engage the North American general public on the topic of Cambodian forced evictions by connecting them with community leaders who have been displaced. Simultaneously the project collects the stories of displaced and forgotten communities in Cambodia. This project is supported by Development & Peace.
