Life in Wigan, Travellers Boxing - Pixelate Project Wigan

This tells the story of Patrick, a young boy who lives on a Traveller?s site. Patrick loves to box and the short film highlights his interest. For more info please visit: www.letsgoglobal.tv Pixelate Project Wigan The focus of the project was to work with local marginalised groups and individuals from BME communities. The project wished to explore themes of identity and local community through the use of digital photography and mixed media, providing the groups with a united voice with which to express their opinions. The project was delivered in partnership with Rafiki ? a Wigan based youth group for Black and minority ethnic young people aged 13 ? 19 ? and The Travellers Education Team (TET) ? who support children from Traveller families to access education in the Wigan area. The project was supported by Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust?s Arts & Festival Team.

Our Partners Lets Go Global are part of Trafford council's Arts and Culture team. In fact, we were the first community Internet channel in the country to be operated by a local authority. Trafford council is now a leading local authority in community ICT provision. Our partners include Arts Council England Northwest, BBC Education and Communities Partnership: Connect and Create, Manchester Digital Development Agency, AGMA, Liverpool John Moore�s ICDC, Creative Partnerships, Cornerhouse, Trafford Housing Trust and FC United.
