Fukushima Made In the USA Protest In SF At Japan Consulate & Bechtel 6/10/2011 On June 10, 2001, activists and organizers against nuclear power and the cover-up by the Japanese TEPCO, GE, the Japanese and US government rallied at the Japanese consulate in San Francisco. The rally took place the same time on an international day of action with protest in Japan and In New York. Participants spoke out about the dangers to the world of nuclear power plants and the role of the governments and the nuclear industry in covering up the dangers as well as refusing to release the actual contamination that is taking place. They also protested the treatment of workers, farmers and the children of Japan who are facing disease, dislocation and a criminal cover-up. They also marched to the world headquarters of Bechtel corporation which has profited from the nuclear industry and then making money from the clean-ups. Speakers pointed out that former US Secretary Of State George Shultz who was also the Chair of Bechtel helped form the "Committee To Liberate Iraq" which pushed for the US invasion and now is making profits in Iraq. Additionally speakers exposed the dangers of depleted uranium bomb which are contaminating whole areas of the world.
