Public Education, Privatization and Labor Forum - Part1 With Gerson,Wright & Brown

On Sunday January 17, 2010 a public forum was held at UCB entitled Public Education, Privatization and Labor This is the first segment and includes panelist Jack Gerson who is on the Executive Board of the Oakland Education Association and George Wright who is a professor at Skyline Community College and a member of AFT 1493 and the United Public Workers For Action UPWA. Also Harold Brown, past president of ATU 1555 BART workers spoke on this issue. The attack on public education threatens the destruction of education to all working people in California. This forum will have education workers and students as well as trade unionists from other industries. The March 4, 2010 day of action to defend public education is not just about education workers and students but all working people.
